About TOC
The Olympian Centre (TOC) is a high energy Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training center located in Bloomingdale, IL approximately 25 minutes West of Chicago, IL. The facility includes wrestling mats, free weight equipment, weight machines, heavy bags, speed bags and cardio equipment. TOC provides its members with an experience that is true to life. “If you want to make the big leagues in this sport, you have to train with big league equipment.” – Pete Becker, Owner.
Needs & Solution
TOC was re-launching itself and a new website was a big part of that re-branding. The new site was designed to capture the energy of the gym while paying attention to functional needs such as readability. We were able to accomplish this by making the sites’ background and accent pieces really tell the story of the design but used a white background with a high contrast dark grey font color for the content areas. We were able to pull in some new functionality but incorporating a Facebook FanBox on the right sidebar seen throughout the website and incorporating a YouTube video and playlist just below that. This helps bring those external services into the site which gives the visitor useful information but still draws them to these TOC social media pages.
