Auto repair marketing

Auto repair marketing for the nine seconds on the side of the road.

Near me, open now, well reviewed: that is the whole decision, and the person making it is already having a bad day. Auto repair marketing, for us, is winning those nine seconds: the listing, the site, auto repair SEO and the ads, run for independent shops around Rockford and across northern Illinois.

Every line in gray is a driver who kept going. How we run the listing

Which one of these is you?

Six lines we hear from shop owners on first calls, and one of them is usually yours. Pick it and we will tell you what is actually going on underneath.

Three get called, not four

The map shows three and fourth is invisible. Which three depends on distance, categories, reviews and how recently the listing was touched, and three of those four are things you can actually move this month.

How we run the listing
The words are inviting it

Cheap and near me bring price shoppers, and a page that will not say anything about cost brings them too. Being specific about what you do and straight about how you quote filters more of it out than anything said at the counter.

How we run the ads
The map does not know that

A shop with twenty years of loyal customers and eleven reviews looks worse online than a new place that asks. We build the asking into handing the keys back, so it happens without anybody remembering.

How reviews move the map
Then rank for the bigger job

Diagnostics, transmissions, fleet work and specific makes are different searches from an oil change, made by people with different budgets. A shop whose only page says auto repair will keep getting oil changes.

The pages that do the ranking
Untrue, and the page can say so

It is one of the most common things independents lose work to and one of the easiest to answer in writing. A plain page about what an independent shop can service without touching a warranty is a page most of your competitors have not written.

The pages that do the ranking
The most expensive minute of the day

For a trade chosen in nine seconds, a call that goes unanswered rings the next shop immediately. Before anybody spends on more calls we look at what happens to the ones you already get.

Start with a plan

All of it, for a repair shop.

The listing and the map are where most shops start with us, and search is one of six things we run. Here is the whole shop, in your situation.

The first ninety days, for a repair shop.

In the order the driver feels it. The listing first, because that is where the nine seconds happen.

Weeks one and twoThe listing and the phone

Categories and services, hours right with Saturday on them, the pin in the right place, photographs of the bays and the counter, every review answered in your voice, and call tracking on from day one.

How we run the listing
Weeks three to sixThe site, by job and by make

Fast on a phone, a page for every service and the makes you work on in the words people type, and an appointment booked in a minute. If the site is sound we fix it; if it is not, we say so and build it.

What we build
Weeks seven to twelveReviews at pickup, the badge on

A review ask built into pickup, the Local Services Ads account verified and on for the near-me search, and the first monthly report: calls, and where each one came from.

Local Services Ads, for shops

Tell us where the shop is.

Three lines and we come back to you, usually within a working day, with what we would look at first. No pitch deck, no quote until there is a plan.

Or the free look first: a free SEO audit of your site and your listing, sent over with nothing to sit through. Or call (815) 880-8676.

How should we reply?
Usually within a working day. Your details stay with us.

Questions shop owners ask before they call us.

The ones that come up on nearly every first call, answered here so you do not have to spend a call getting to them.

The Google listing, by a distance. Hours, services, photographs of the actual shop and a steady arrival of reviews with replies underneath them. For a trade chosen in nine seconds on a map, that is most of the decision, and the website matters much less than owners expect.

By asking at the moment the keys go back, every time, in a way that takes one tap. Long-standing shops are usually the worst at this and it is the fastest thing to change, because twenty years of goodwill is sitting there unrecorded.

Partly by narrowing what the ads answer to, and partly by being straight on the page about how you quote and what a diagnostic costs. A page that says it loses the people who were never going to book and keeps the ones who were.

On convenience, price and trust, yes, and on the warranty question specifically. Most independents lose work to a claim about warranties that is not true, and almost none of them have written the plain page that answers it.

Listing work can change the number of calls inside a few weeks. Ranking for a service in a town takes a few months and then keeps building. If the bays are empty this week, that is paid, and we will say so rather than sell you search and hope.

No. It would be taking money from two people to compete with each other. One independent shop per service area, and if we are already working with somebody where you are we will tell you on the first call.

What we won't promise you.

This trade is decided on proximity more than any other on the list, which puts a real ceiling on what marketing can do. Here is the honest version.

Distance is not something we can fix

The map ranks partly on where you are, and for a trade people choose by how far it is to walk home, that matters more than anywhere else on this list. There are towns you will not win from your address, and we will tell you which.

Reviews are the part you have to do

We can build the asking into handing the keys back and answer every one in your voice. We cannot leave them, and we will not write them. A shop whose techs ask beats one whose techs do not.

We cannot answer your phone

For a trade chosen in nine seconds this is the most expensive gap there is, and it is inside your building. If calls go unanswered while everybody is under a car, more marketing buys more missed calls.

Nobody buys a plan they haven't seen.

The free audit is a look at what you already have and what it is costing you, sent over with nothing to sit through. The plan is a conversation about where the business is and where you want it to get to, and it ends with a path written down rather than a quote. Or you call, and somebody who works on accounts picks up.
