How does changing your logo help you?

One thing is for sure, it shows initiative.

Logo Changes

Depending on how long you’ve been in the business, the idea of changing or altering your logo can be daunting. It might change how your brand is perceived, drive away loyal customers, or have new customers second guess the stability of your company.

But, changing logos can actually perform the opposite effect on your company.

So I’m here to tell you to not be hesitant or afraid of re-branding or refreshing your company! If you decide to change things up a bit, congratulations! It shows you care about your company. You wouldn’t consider such a change if you didn’t see how times and art are changing and how to improve your company and product.

It shows initiative from your side and that you’re willing to take risks to better your company.

As a business owner, you are constantly trying to keep up with the new and ever-changing market trends. Sometimes that requires revisiting your logo. Pick it apart, figure out what is you like and dislike about it, and gather opinions whether it be from your board, co-workers, or family. Once you have that information you can begin the process of re-branding or create a completely new logo. If you don’t know where to start with re-branding, hiring an agency will get you through the process.

Changes Throughout the Time

Some examples of popular brands that have changed logos include Starbucks, Shell, Pepsi, and Microsoft.

The most surprising logo change happened in a ten-year span. The U.S. Soccer Federation changed their logo in 2006 to the 2014 logo. Then in early 2016, the federation changed their logo again. This time around it was designed by Nike and features a new font, 90Minutes, by Tal Leming.

That’s three logo changes in 10 years! The change from 2006 to 2014 isn’t drastically different, it’s cleaner and fits more with the minimalist theme that brands have been trying to achieve since 2014. The change from 2014 to 2016 is definitely a more drastic change removing any aspect of soccer from the logo and changing the typeface.

Don’t worry about changing or creating a new logo, just take a look at these other companies and organizations that have done a number of logo changes throughout the years. You want to show the world you’re keeping up with the times and that your brand matters to you!
